TRUE TEMPER'S S3 Super Strength Steel Series is based on state of the art steel metallurgy. The metallurgists at True Temper developed this alloy and a special heat treatment for it to optimize the steel for the construction of minimum weight frames. The ultimate tensile strength exceeds 195,000 psi.

If your primary goal is a special purpose minimum weight steel frame, the S3 Series in a compact style frame is what you want.

The S3 main triangle tubes are intended for racers who ride a compact style road frame. We stock the tubing in 3 sizes, as the biovalled down tube does not lend itself to more than a modest amount of trimming.

The S3 tubing has a "teardrop" cross-section oversize top tube.
The seat tube accepts a 27.2mm Seat Post
The 1.5" (38.1mm) down tube is ovalled vertically at the head tube, and ovalled horizontally at the bottom bracket shell
The chainstays are round-oval-round for optimum stiffness and low weight
The seat stays are thin walled 16mm tapered.
