Here Tim moves from the unglamorous, but essential, cleaning of the

as a checklist of all the detail steps you don't want to forget in

5. BUILDING THE SUBASSEMBLIES [Sample Page]
Tim's method of building involves making one joint at a time. He begins
with these subassemblies: seat tube/bottom bracket shell; down tube/head
tube; steerer/crown; fork blade/dropout; chainstay/dropout.
This Chapter takes you through these subassemblies in detail. Tim
separates out the different requirements throughout this chapter between
lugged and lugless construction.

Tim divided repairs into two categories: Hot and Cold. "Hot" involves
using your torch to remove and reattach the repaired areas. "Cold"
repairs involve realigning, cold setting, refacing and tapping. Most of
the Chapter is devoted to "Hot" repairs like tube replacements. Sorry,
no Figures in this Chapter. Tim does a good job of talking you through
128 entries cover the framebuilder's world.
