Solo Velo is an exciting new specialty framebuilding company established in 1998 to share a passion and enthusiasm for fixed gear riding.

With traditional lugged and brazed steel construction techniques and highest quality butted tubing, Solo Velo road/track frames are ready for high performance competition on the track, plus standard features to mount brakes and water bottles for road training with a fixed gear. My frames are hand-built, one-at-a-time, to insure that each bike has optimum strength, stiffness, comfort, and precision alignment.

STANDARD frame geometries for sizes between 50 - 60 cm are generally in stock for immediate delivery, and CUSTOM framesets will meet individual requirements for dedicated track racing or specialties.

HENRY JAMES framebuilding jigs and products are used on all Solo Velo frames.

Richard DiGennaro, framebuilder

Richard is a mechanical engineer, having over 25 years experience with precision engineering design and fabrication. He is a project group leader and has engineering oversight for brazing operations at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is a graduate of the United Bicycle Institute Framebuilding Class.

He is preparing for early retirement to a second career building bikes, devoting his evenings and weekends to framebuilding, road training, and track racing. He's been an avid cyclist since age 3 when he rode his first fixed-gear tricycle.
